What are sustainable mobility services?

Mobility services are the practices and actions that promote and favor sustainable transportation, in an equitable and responsible manner, so that people can move from one place to another safely and efficiently. They also improve quality of life, our environment, and the city.

AVISO Agenda Semanal

Movilidad Sostenible - Bicicletas en Campus

What is the aim of our services?

Our services aim to develop a culture of sustainability and responsibility by traveling using different means. This will position us as one of the most environmentally aware universities and as national leaders for high-impact actions in the context of the climate change emergency and in supporting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

How are we going to achieve this?

  • Vision
  • Strategy
  • The mobility pyramid

The Tecnológico de Monterrey Campuses are spaces with universal accessibility, where the hierarchy of urban mobility is prioritized. In recent years, and in accordance with our commitment to sustainability, the Tec community has modified its way of getting around, reducing the number of trips by individual car.

This has been possible thanks to the implementation of plans and actions aimed at promoting alternative and sustainable means of transportation. These measures offer infrastructure and options that are integrated into the city's existing mobility systems, contributing to improving the quality of life and the environment. In addition, they promote the planned urban development of our communities and the environment.

  1. PRIORITIZE services based on the mobility pyramid.
  2. CAUSE changes in the way we move (the different ways of getting to Campus).
  3. DEVELOP culture and infrastructure which meet improvement needs in a sustainable way.
  4. SUPPORT the use of alternative and sustainable transportation.
  5. Efficiently INTEGRATE the city’s different travel systems.
  6. HARMONIZE the use of services to improve quality of life and environment for the community in general.

These objectives are aligned with the key action points within the Environment for Human Flourishing section of the 2025 Strategic Plan, the 2025 Sustainability and Climate Change Plan and the four main focuses of the DistritoTec Project.

2026 ORIGIN - DESTINATION Survey (ODS)

What is an Origin - Destination Survey (ODS)?

EOD 2026

It is a consultation tool that allows us to understand how, when, and through what modes of transportation the Tec Community (students, faculty, and staff) moves from their starting point to the campus and their subsequent trips.

What is the objective for this year, 2026?

To evaluate current mobility habits and compare them with the 2013 and 2018 surveys. This will allow us to:

  • Measure the impact of service, urban, and infrastructure improvements made in recent years.
  • Adjust and focus policies, guidelines, transit services, and public spaces according to the real needs of users.
  • Improve the travel experience and facilities for the entire Tec Community.
